Discover What Makes Us Unique

Who We Are

Our Mission

Born from urgent need: Neonatal surgery demands millimeter precision on the most fragile patients.
A world first: InfantSim delivers the first anatomically accurate, high-fidelity 3D-printed simulator for safe, effective MIS training.
Impact that matters: Improving surgeon skill and confidence to give newborns the best possible start in life.

Team

Our leadership structure reflects the project’s research-driven innovation by bridging clinical expertise with advanced material science. InfantSim is driven by a strong multidisciplinary team combining expertise in pediatric surgery, materials chemistry, 3D printing, and simulation technologies.

Petra Zahradníková

A pediatric surgeon and lecturer at Comenius University’s Faculty of Medicine. As Slovakia’s national coordinator for rare congenital surgical anomalies and a member of several international expert panels, she drives innovation in pediatric surgery and medical education. Her research focuses on developing and implementing 3D-printed surgical models to improve preparation for complex procedures.

Zdeno Špitalský

Head of the Department of Composite Materials at the Polymer Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Zdeno is an expert in polymer (nano) composites, surface modifications, and advanced materials for 3D printing. He has authored over 100 scientific publications, holds patents in polymer applications, and his research advances the technological backbone of the InfantSim simulator.
