InfantSim is more than a simulator

Science

The INFANTSIM project develops an anatomically accurate neonatal simulator for minimally invasive surgery (MIS) training, based on a unique process of CT segmentation of a real newborn and subsequent 3D printing of the skeleton and body cavities.

Synthetic organs made from hydrogels (GelMA, polyacrylamide) were developed by analyzing the mechanical properties of animal tissues to closely mimic the elasticity, strength, and haptic feel of real human organs.
